You only have to listen to Le Main in the States when he doesn't agree with something he launches into one of his attacks, and then plays the I'm a Jersey man who cares about the people. the only person he cares about is himself, he's a spineless loud mouth.
Same as the way he treats housing tenants, he'll have his picture taken with an OAP giving them a bunch of flowers, but it you try and contact him about any issues he'll ignore you or tell you how lucky you are and there's a lot of people worse off.
He was a Dodgy used car salesman who was disliked by most in the trade and now he's a dodgy politician.

Did Le Main sit through the whole hustings? I don't remember seeing him. Anyone see him from start to finish? I didn't see him come in, but I was quite late and sat at the back, so I think I would have seen him come in if he had arrived later. I DID see him leave, though. I was standing at the exit handing out leaflets for Montfort, and I sort of pushed a leaflet in Terry Le Main's hands. He refused to take it. But with my natural charm ( ;D) I said : "May I introduce you to one of your future colleagues, Mr Le Main ?" It clearly threw him off, he smiled back sheepishly AND ... took one of Monty's leaflets with him after all! I should have put contact glue on it so he would have had to "hold" it for quite some time to come ! ;D

LOL, good for you. ;D
This just goes to show just how arrogant these people are. We were all offered these leaflets from all candidates on the way in and out. Now I would not in a millions years vote for some of them, but would consider it incredibly rude not to take one, even if it is to end up in my recycling bin. If I already had one then I would politely say so. There is absolutely no excuse for being rude to anyone, let alone those that have supported their candidates through out these elections.
This narrow mindedness will be their undoing eventually.

Left my mark for the following:
Forskitt Breckon Wimberly Palmer Perkins Southern
Baudains for St Clement Constable
And Match of the Day to stay at 22.30 - not 23:30.
Shame Le Main is not up for re-election. Only 3 years to go. I'll bide my time...

More than just rude, absolutely disgraceful conduct from someone who should be setting an example. Not the first time,he is well known for his tirades. Also trys it on in the States Chambers. Might have served him well in his previous life, but no call for that as a servant of the people . He works for us,not the other way around.

Oh my goodness, unbelievable. I have now read the offending email and as ‘quote: ‘that woman Corby’ I will be using my right to reply to all concerned including that ex car salesman, who all too well knows my full name as it was my husband Brian Corby who took him to court and beat him hands down.
For those of you who did not attend the St Helier hustings this was the actual wording of my question that night.
What I actually asked and said at the St Helier hustings. Start: ‘ In your opinion is it correct that the Attorney general should preside over a case involving Lenny Harper being accused of being unfair to certain dismissed Police officers especially due to the obvious conflict between Lenny Harper and the Attorney General. Would it not be better for the Devon and Cornwall Police to deal with the whole affair? In my opinion Lenny Harper did a good job handling this case and the ‘Haut de la Garenne ‘abuse cases. End:
I will post my reply as soon as I send it out, with a list of who I have sent it to for your reference. I would like to say a personal thank you to the gentleman who directed me to this link so I could read this email and have the right to reply to it. You know who you are, and it is appreciated!
To mac with reference to your reply to my daughter Aprils comments. I am doing a little more than thinking about this. I only went to the one husting, asked one question, which everyone I met was asking on the street, I was not being destructive, no one prompted me to ask this question, and I do not appreciate the insinuation that I and others must be MAD for having an opinion.
What amazes me is that Terry Le main actually had the rude audacity to be so insulting towards myself and others in sending this email to States Members and the media. I cannot speak for the others but I can say that I have no problem with the media naming me and what he said about me personally, as I for one will not be intimidated or bullied by Terry Le main.

Thanks Linda, for showing your side of the story. As far as I can see,a very well thought out question that many people would like answers to.
So you were criticised for being there,or for asking the wrong sort of question ?

Hi Linda,
I'm glad your going to complain, Le Main should not be allowed to get away with his continual abuse of people. I hope the other people he mentioned will do the same, as it's about time he was stopped.

Both Bea! I have just been on talkback and Niel McMurray has also just been on radio jersey talkback as well, and says he is going to do something? Didn't say what. I phoned radio jersey back and asked them to give him my number so he could ring me (747039) should anyone wish to speak to me. I will be posting what I do next on here for everyone. Thanks for the support

I am using my right to reply to all concerned including that ex car salesman, who all too well knows my full name as it was my husband Brian Corby who took him to court and beat him hands down. Which is why he is holding a grudge against us, and I find this totally disgraceful and unacceptable. I require a full written apology for the detrimental, vindictive, and incorrect comments he has made about me in this email. I feel that he is letting down all the other States Members by behaving in this manner. End: Terry Le Main has obviously never understood how to behave as a States Member, he obviously cannot control what comes out of his mouth, and needs to learn the consequences of his email reflect badly on those he is corresponding with and others, but as it is said ‘You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear’. Yours sincerely, Linda Corby Note: I am awaiting your apology Terry Le Main.

Could somebody please tell me why Terry le Main and the gentlemans many Cronies, these seemingly obtuse Lady's and gentlemen are still standing as Deputy's, Senator's etc. After Le Main's unacceptable attitude and others alike (With thier Contradictory E-Mail's, Letters, Speech's and Investigation's).
My Question is...
When will someone PLEASE pluck up the courage to finally opose these types of senators politically and find people Like Tadier, Pitman, or Southern who acctually do Care about Children and young people (like Students thier education and Recreation), Un-Employment, Social Security, and many service's Alike.
We Have to rid ourselves of GST (If only on Clothing and basic foods like dairy products etc.),No words can do it, no petitions can do it, no rallys can do it, Only people Like Tadier can get us out of this slum that jersey is becoming.
I really worry That many young people will leave and never look back at Jersey as a home because of Senator's, Deputy's and Certain Chief Ministers.

People are plucking up the courage to try and change the ways things work over here. It is a very slow process, for many reasons.
There are many good people who are honest, open and care about those who are less fortunate than a lot of people who run the Island.
The old Jersey way is hard to break into, people are so entrenched in their mind set. They fear change,so would rather settle for the status quo .
From the number of people who voted for the "Progressive" candidates, you are not alone in wanting some change for the better, for all of us,and not certain sectors of society.
Have to build on that, encourage those people to register, because without them having an input will be hard to change.
It will change,if enough people stand up and be counted.
Voter apathy is very tough nut to crack.
who can blame people for getting so dishearted, year after year, when we get same old business as usual. It is a numbers game. They know that. They also know that a lot of unhappy people in Jersey who feel they are not represented.
It is in their interests to try and bridge the divide, and that means people working together.

Linda,
You have my support.
If it comes down to litigation I will donate what I can spare.
The only let-out Le Main can use is that he was not referring to 'Linda Corby', but some other 'Corby'.
Unfortunately for Terry there is only one of the Corby clan listed in the 'phone book, and that particular clan having previous 'form' with Le Main.
On the mainland his missive would receive the appropriate coverage with some form of an apology due; private, or public. ( If not for Ryan Morrison publishing the full context would any of us have known of it's existence?)
On this Island his best defense is to follow the Ghandic Opposition ie: a self deluding conviction that his might will prevail against passive resistance. If it succeeds for him rest assured, Linda there are many of us taking account of such bully-boy tactics. I have assured you what little financial help I can offer in the face of legal action, but suffice to say I am prepared to offer a whole lot more...

At this point he has insulted people by name, and also criticised members of the public for being vocal .They were expressing their frustrations .Tough world politics.Have to expect to be taken to task ,if you are not delivering the goods.
If you can't stand the heat ,stay out the kitchen .
Need people with backbone ,not namby pampies, who are afraid to speak out against their Masters who pull their strings
What sort of moral compass do some politicians have?
As Jimminy Cricket once said "Always let your conscience be your guide"
Only that assumes everyone has one

You are right Bea. I did stand for election back in 1999, the problem back then was people just wouldn't and didn't want to know about the corruption that was and still is going on in the island. I said back then that we were having a mass exodus of our youngsters, and the situation is even worse now! I called it the culling of the Indigenous Jersey people and this is exactly what it is. I know loads of our kids who have just gone to Uni and have no intention of returning to live in the island later! My eldest daughter Clarissa who is Jersey born (as is her Dad with long Jersey roots on his mother’s side) is now living in Australia with her Jersey born husband and my two grandsons that I have yet to hold in my arms. You really should read Stuart Syvrets blog today! stuartsyvret.blogspot.comEveryone knows untold people this is happening to, but no one in the elite cares. Affordable family homes do not exist, end of. Wrote a bit on this here, www.lindacorby.com/page4.php?post=4

Thank you Jeremy, that is really nice of you, I will bare it in mind if I end up in court through this. However, Terry le Main would have to be pretty daft to take me on, Lol!
We are the only Corby's in the island so he couldn't have meant anyone else.

I am well aware of the feelings of young people. My own kids.and their friends, express the same view. Whilst our kids migrate,we then have to import labour . The social cost of all this is very high, families are split up ,siblings lose brothers/sisters.Grandparents don't get to see their Grandkids which is very very sad.
Elderly people who then have to go into care, because no family to step in.
I have heard the same story time after time. Young people do want to go and explore the World ,important that they do that .
They also want to follow career paths outside of say the Finance/Trust sectors. Unrealistic to expect we can accomodate graduates with all specialised qualifications, given the fact we are a small place.
But we have little diversity
They also want to settle down eventually to raise a family in the place of their birth and heritage, and to be with their extended families .
Very hard to do with the present housing situation as it at present .

SSS blog today and yesterday
What I feel so frustrated about is that the truth or even the allegations put forward are never talked about, denied or investigated except on various forums. There is no one to complain to. The higher up the tree the more secrecy, lies and spin and they get away with it. Sean power tonite on planet jersey has answered a solid "yes" to the hypothetical questions posed by sss regarding senior civil sercants in esc There are about 17000 kids under the remit of esc but no journalists locally will take it up and endeavour to find out the truth as whether the kids of all ages are safe under the current management. I contacted bill o office and was put through to the comms unit who said it was not in the public interest for them to comment but can assure me that department is being well managed. Mmm not convinced
