May I ask an obvious question? If Adrian Walsh doesn't personally know you - because you've mentioned a couple of times that you had to introduce yourself to him the other night - how did it come to pass that he handed you in particular the keys to his kingdom? I will quite happily stand up in a court of law, swear on my late fathers grave and take a lie detector test to confirm that until last Saturday I had never spoken to AW and that until last night I had never met him. Maybe one of the other candidates who I spoke to at the St Brelade hustings could confirm this ? When I spoke to him originally he asked me to take on PJ because he had found my posts to be reasoned and not the usual upfront, finance is great, confrontational stuff that came from certain quarters. I've said my bit now, and have offered those who were disaffected by the way PJ was being run originally the chance to come back and join the debate. I'll leave it up to you guys to make up your own minds. Thanks for giving me the time. Certainly you spoke to me after the St Brelade's hustings. What you have written here accords with what you said there.

Even though I had been removed from the forum I received an email asking me to recommend PJ to my friends. I demand that the information of all non members is wiped from your databases. I know nothing of this, like I said before I am not a tecci. However I will look behind the scenes to see if I can figure this out and stop it from happening again. Anyway, JTM will still be there under new a ID. And again as I said earlier, I have no doubt that he will try to infiltrate the forum again, I will do my utmost to monitor it and prevent it from happening. However, as you will know, there is only so much time you can devote to the administration of these forums. The Jersey Forum is honest and totally fair to all viewpoints put in a non-aggresive or insulting way.The future is here. I have no doubt about the integrity of this forum and I hope that going forward PJ and the Jersey Forum can exist side by side. After all we are on the same side of the fence looking to have a real change in the way Jersey is run. I don't plan to come back on here again, I feel that I have done my best to put the record straight about the on going administration of PJ. The offer still stands and will do so from here on.

Planjer, I find myself to a certain extent agreeing with The another blog, you've inherited a bit of a poisoned chalice with Planet Jersey. One thing I would say, is that because of certain past activity by those previously running Planet Jersey, you're probably going to be viewed with suspicion by a number of people - as you were when you first arrived here. If I were you, aswell as what you've done by coming here to clear the air, I'd do the same thing on Planet Jersey so everyone is perfectly clear that it's "under new management". You really need to let the online community know it's a brand new start, and distance yourself firmly from the old team. Personally I'd also change the name to get that point across, but obviously you can't do that because of the url. If you just come here and say your piece, then wander back to Planet Jersey and carry on as usual, a number of people are going to think the change is purely cosmetic. I've already heard people debating that this is a temporary measure until the election is over, when JTM and Adrian Walsh will reappear...so that's the kind of thing you're going to find yourself contending with until you draw a line in the sand. And if you cleared up the IP issue regarding The another blog and myself that would go a long way to publically showing things had changed for the better.

PJ is a poisoned chalice to be sure, and if the current owner was previously a mod there, then I see no reason to trust it yet, if ever. They should pull the plug and let it go.

So who is the new admin of PJ?
Is it Rosemary the telephone operator, is it Sarge, is it Henry the mild mannered janitor?
I'd like to think it is Danrock, but he knows the odd thing or too about computers so unlikely.

It seems that tracking multiple IP and accounts is a breeze on PJ. Quote from JTM on Why Guernsey Feb 28th reads: We have a report mechanism on the forum which atomically lists all user ips and the same ips used by users, listing their user names, dates the same ips were used etc. We are aware of proxy ips, but in cases where this has happened and they are not proxy’s, we then know for sure that something is wrong.
We are also aware that if some users use the same proxy ip access that their ips may be the same as other users with the same proxy ip access.
But in this case there was no proxy ip.
Modern tech aye!
We are just asking people to decide which user name they want to keep.
For anyone who is curious, this thread makes fascinating reading. www.whyguernsey.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12580

If I'd have been aware of that thread at the time, I would never have agreed to become a Moderator when he approached me. He comes across like an overexcited 12 year old showing off his new toy. It's embarrassing to read. Have to say though, in light of recent events this comment made me smile... "I dont mind an individual coming onto our forum with one id. But when they start creating new accounts and then start talking to themselves by complimenting their own posts, we just wonder whether there is something mentally wrong with them."
