Just a thought.
Is our island population divided along political/social/moral lines? Judging by the posts on some other forums it would seem that we have an ever growing division between different sections of the population. How wide is the gap between the haves and the have nots?
Generally, do we have a deeply divided populace? Any thoughts?

When I was 10 years younger, I was aware that Jersey had rich people and "normal" people. But the standard of living for the normal people was comfortable enough for there to be more of a difference than a divide between the two groups.
In recent times that situation has noticeably changed. The difference has now developed into a divide, one that's still widening.
In my view that's down to a variety of factors, but the crass love of money (combined with an apparent lack of interest and empathy for the concerns of the average islander) exhibited by certain senior members of our Ministerial government, seems to have played a huge part in spotlighting, if not creating, a modern day social division.

Yes it is deepy divided now.
When a couple both earning the average wage can't afford to buy the average house on a 5 times salary 30 year mortgage something has gone wrong.
There are obviously many who can afford these prices but as Peter Seymour from The Mortgage Shop said recently "85% of people buying £430,000 houses are from the finance industry" that's where the divide lies in my opinion.
