Has justice been served on these two Deputies ?Are the fines excessive for the nature of their offences ? The media and a certain other local person seems that they need to resign as well ,is this necessary.
Have they paid the price already ?
Would welcome others thoughts and opinions on this subject.

If the fines are the maximum possible for any offence under the regulations, then I would agree that they've been stitched up.

Hardly justice - a rap over the knuckles / token penalty would have been adequate. It would also have been more palatable if all those guilty of the same offence had been charged and fined - justice would have been seen to have been done. The media also has consistently not pointed out the difference between assisting someone to apply for a postal vote and actually filling out a ballot form - one has to wonder whether this omission / clouding of the issue has been deliberate?

Conspiracy believers should bear in mind the following old quote :
Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence.

The establishment will do anything they can to stop any other party having to many members. The 2 Deputies should not have been charged, they did nothing wrong!

Nothing morally wrong, no, I quite agree. But it was against the law. "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime" as they say Still, the punishment was way out of proportion. The correct thing to do now is bring a proposition to the States to scrap this immoral part of the law, and leave it up to the States as a whole to decide. If they do foolishly decide to keep it as it is, history will be the judge of just how rotten our wonderful government has been.
