You would think that in the so called credit crunch this shop would have increased takings. They do some good cheap moisturisers and shampoos. Time to stock up I guess

Also cleaning products, food and children's stuff too.
With Woolworth's also gone, where are people now going to buy their kids a packet of felt pens without paying sky high prices?
I'll miss it.

Time to stock up I guess I am sorry to hear that Also surprised that they have not expanded out into bigger premises,to include more food stuffs . Perhaps the overheads are too much in town. These sort of shops are widely used on the mainland ,and some great bargains to be had.

I wonder if they'll re-open at least one outlet as some sort of Bargain World, dropping the 1 Pound idea, or have they just given up altogether? Time will tell.

I am not surprised as we live in a very expensive island now (some would say rip off) and the cost to get anything here is exorbitant. Alan McLean was trying to waffle his way out of this, this morning in relation to the fact that we pay more to go to St.Malo than people from England even though they get a journey of three times the distance! I have been on about this for ages but as we well know if someone is making a killing they won't want to give it up. Maybe a new brand could set up under the banner of Fiver or Tenner World as this is probably Jersey's equivalent of pound world now.
