It has gone a bit quiet. Might start picking up now that Xmas and New Year are over.

There just isn't a lot to write about, at present. At least this site is not full of trolling, like the rival site that seems to have loads going on, but hardly any of it worth reading, when you do.

A lot of us have busy lives outside of forums .This means we do not spend our days glued to computers screens, discussing the complexities of Jersey Life. When anything worthwhile comes to my attention ,or feel moved enough to comment ,I have a place to put it here. Any member is free to start a thread, and hopefully that bring others out to comment . I,m sure in the difficult months ahead ,there will be many thing to discuss, especially once the Council of Ministers are let loose.!!

Hi, new to this Jersey Forum. Am unable to post on the Newbie Boards for some reason. I was brought up in Jersey between 1947 to 1961. However I was not born on the island. My family lived in India and came to live in Jersey, St Aubin in 1947 after partition in india. I went to Hautleiu Boys school from 1957 to 1961. My family left the island in 1961 and move to Cornwall. I returned to the Ialand in 2000, and again in 2001. Nobody else in my family who lived there has ever returned, all passed away now. I liked my trip back there just to look up old places I knew as child and teenager. I know Jersey, and St Heleir has changed a lot, and a new school campus has replaced the old Haultieu School I knew in the 1950s. i might re-visit Jersey again some time if I can, now in my 70's.
