The Chief Officer of the States of Jersey Police, Graham Power, has been suspended from his job.

It comes after detectives announced there is NO evidence of murder at the Haut de la Garenne Children's Home.

Their appraisal of the historic abuse inquiry undermines statements made by former Deputy Chief Officer Lenny Harper. He claimed human remains had been found at the home as well as a blood stained bath and shackles. But today (Wednesday) the force admitted mistakes had been made.

Funny how one type of civil servant can be suspended (despite ACPO being happy with the investigation earlier) yet another one can't!

This changes the perception of things to the casual onlooker inclined to want to believe The Establishment. Previously Stuart and the victims were in the accusers position, whereas now people may consider them to be deniers. A subtle difference, but an unfortunate one to those in the quest for truth.

I am surprised Mr.Power was suspended. However on thinking about it, maybe it is a shrewd move by the establishment? They can now draw a line under the whole lot and if Mr.Power goes maybe the deputy could be upgraded?

I am not surprised in the least about the rest of it, many have been predicting this since day one. Maybe the establishment now think it is done and dusted and no need to go any further? I bet all the local media report this as a massive story and go on and on about it for weeks. Maybe the BBC radio phone on Sunday will be about this story?

As you say crappogre it is surprising that one person is suspended when to my mind he wasn't really involved at all, as his deputy was running the case. However it appears others have been treated differently elsewhere? I am sure people will be wondering why? As per usual loads of questions unanswered, maybe the establishment will try and answer what has been going on here?

As per the coconut I am amazed that forensic scientists brought in especially because they knew about these things, and a specially trained dog that sniffed out human remains all failed to identify it as a coconut. This has surprised many people. What else is not what they thought it was origionally?

One thing is for sure I shall be speaking yet again to my deputy about this. I shall be interested to see what he has to say now!

Given todays events, Mr Warcup declared he has ripped up most of the evidence. If Mr Power has been suspended and intends to take this matter further is it not that the most unprofessional statement a Police Officer can make publically, especially when an investigation is going to take place. Is it not a fact that all evidence must be produced. A shocking statement to make and to my mind, even if not the most intelligent, "cover up" more than fits the bill. I only hope that Power or Lenny Harper have kept photocopies of all the evidence they produced.

Gagged If you google Warcup evidence ripped up you will see that this was said in his statement, it is also in the Daily Telegraph, if I only I was able I would transfer the site, alas I am but a sad lady, technology is not my strong point.

Jersey's suspended police chief was under "day-to-day" political pressure, the former head of the investigation into child abuse allegations has said.

Maybe this was why Lenny Harper did the HDLG investigation? Maybe Mr.Power was trying to keep politics out of the police? It will be interesting to see what comes of his attempts to get re-instated. Will all evidence be made public so we can all see what has been going on? There is more to this than meets the eye in my opinion.

"My disciplinary hearing took place on 4th August 1995 and the task of asking for my resignation was allocated to Chief Supt. Davidson being senior to Supt. Warcup, but when I refused to resign then the loss of pension rights was brought into play. I was dismissed on the strength of the pitiful final written warning issued by Warcup. It seems Jim was now considered a loose cannon, he was asked to desist from his role as self-appointed tax-payers friend. What had actually happened was that Jim had done a vehicle check on an untaxed vehicle to see who the registered keeper was (the driver denied any knowledge of this car), because it was being used on a public highway without displaying an up to date vehicle excise disc. Jim had been cleared by security many years previously to allow him to access details on the police computer. Even some senior police officers did not have the same level security clearance needed to check some details so they would ask Jim, with his higher clearance, to check things out for them at times. So it was not a case of Jim abusing his power in relation to the Data Protection Act, an NPF letter told him that he had not breached the act. All what Jim had done was to act too keenly in the matter of having an untaxed vehicle off the streets. An untaxed vehicle means a number of things, either the vehicle has no MOT or that it is not insured. If you have ever had a run-in with a vehicle when the owner has no insurance cover you will know how difficult it is to recover your losses, and if you have a personal injury claim it could take years to get a payout from the Motor Insurers Bureau. Jim fought his dismissal by appealing against unfair dismissal, but that was dismissed. " This is NOT about Graham Power but you'd be forgiven for thinking so !

Northumbria Police deputy chief constable David Warcup took over from Harper.

Northumbria Police do not have the best of reputations!

The Northumbria and Gateshead Police in recent years have become renowned for cover - ups, perhaps you should try google for the Evening Chronicle who have over the years reported freely on the activities of the Police and some of their corrupt officers in recent years. Warcup was not a loved officer of the law, sad Jersey had to inherit this man who obviously is feathering his nest yet again, in Jersey. There is much more to this than meets the eye. It must of been a nice big juicy carrot Warcup was offered. Who is covering up for whom or how many?

PS The officer suspended for inappropriate behaviour, I think I actually know who that one was, eventually he was asked to leave, (pension still in tact) no prosecution?? you can guess the rest.
