Can anybody tell me what this is ?? It seems to be planted all along the side walk from st Aubins to St Brelades ?

It's a Canna Lily ,comes in lots of colours ,many with variegated leaves. semi-tropical ,so harsh winters best kept indoors . I have a couple ,kept in pots,that I move into sheltered place during the winter . As we rarely get frost ,they survive pretty well outdoors too.
Also got a banana plant which is doing really well,and not taken any extra precautions over the winter with it .Goes from strength to strength . we are very lucky to have the climate,which allows us to propagate some of the more interesting plants,that would nto survive further north .
