After chatting to a couple of dear old lady pensioners who attended the St Helier hustings for the very first time .They both claimed it was a wonderful night out ,never laughed so much in ages, was all for free too .
One of them described it to me as a bit of a pantomine,in that there was a lot of banter between the audience and the politicians on stage.
So my thoughts are these, with The Christmas season approaching, and the shops are gearing up to entice us with lots of festive goodies .
A pantomine featuring States members would go down a treat ,could help bring a smile back to all our faces.Lots of topical issues they could build a script around.
Any proceeds could go to worthwhile causes.
There are lots of characters to choose from,so no-one would have to be left out .
Might be a struggle finding a Snow White,or a Cinderella though.
So for starters a few characters they might like to consider.
Baron Hardup
Aladdin and the forty thieves
Buttons
Idle Jack
Fagin The Big bad Wolf
The two Ugly sisters
Puss in Boots Tom Thumb
The wicked witch
Any other characters, please feel free to comment.
Come on guys/gals,you know you'd enjoy it ,all that dressing up and what a good PR Exercise it could be .

The Connetable and deputy are having a meeting for parishoners in the upstairs committee room of the Parish Hall 8.00 p.m. 24th November, to discuss any issues they would like to address. Gay rights, Greenfields/Bellwood/Grand prix and bull semen imports might be suitable topics to liven up the evening
