Terry Le Main has stepped a line. Has he lost the plot, OK its a matter of personal opinion, but Calling Jersey voter's Mad and Destructive. I don't believe that this shameless excuse of a politician has any right to say that. He is a hypocrite and should be ousted from the states someone has got to do something about this foolish man who may as well give people a wooden box with bricks covering it to live in and charge them the earth for living in it, Oh wait he already does that.

Far from the first time he's overstepped the mark, and probably not the last.. Sadly whilst the Old Boys Club runs the island, there's little hope for the rest of us

Hi No 6
I only publish things I have the proof to, and not all the information I have on certain people that I know are true but do not hold the evidence to. :-)

I know these are only incinuations and speculation but People really do need to ask themselves the question as to why It is Illegal to write with biro or pen on the vote and why it is okay to not use all of your choices even if you don't like the person you are voting for as Syvret said in his blog chose those who you think are the least bad but use all of your choices. And could someone please explain to me why it was made illegal to use anything other than graphite pencil on your vote form.

The Prisioner was/is one of my all time favourite TV series. For some strange reason it reminds me so much of Jersey, lol, must be the big clock in the village which is much like our steam clock. The Prisoner TV show

Many people expressed your own concerns.BBC Jersey has lots of callers talking about various inconsistencies, depending on what parish you live in . Apparently they did allow pens ,the votes were not spoiled. Ticks were also accepted instead of an X. The whole system needs a review, pencils in this day and age.Surely a permanent mark would be safer? Different parishes asked if you wanted papers to vote in all three ballots(two if no Connetable election),some just handed them out without asking . something is wrong here, needs to review all these things . Seems a bit hit and miss to me . Many people have commented that your vote can be traced back to you .Your electoral roll number is written on the back . We are assured that this is only ever done ,if there is a recount or a complaint of fraud . How happy are people to take their word for it ? Is there a better and more effective system that could be introduced to allay any fears ?

I was at the count in St Saviour and I do know that some people ticked some boxes and crossed others. Those votes were considered spoilt because "it wasn't a unanimous vote".
There are a lot of things about the entire organisation of the elections that need scrutinising, that's for sure !
Derek Gray said on the radio - AFTER the elections - that some people's identities had not been checked. In St Saviour, I autonatically showed my driving license and they explicitly said : "Oh, we don't need that! Only if you look dodgy, do we ask for identification!" I already pointed out how ridiculous that was, but even so ... The lady behind me didn't bring an ID and that was perfectly alright !
Geoff Southern today on Talkback pointed out a few more inconsistencies. Ad I said, we REALLY need to look into this ! As chair for Time4Change I will most definitely make that a point on my agenda !

I actually asked about the electoral number on the back. From what I understand, the electoral number was NOT written on the back of the electoral form itself, but on the back of the counterpart in the "book" out of which they tore the ballot paper. Apparently, they did this to "make sure the same person does not come and vote twice". Seemed like a silly reason to me because they could clearly indicate that in the electoral list itself. Yes, there are MUCH better systems and I will make sure I will keep PPC in the know !
