PRIVACY:
If you wish to hide your personal details, email address, age etc. from other members, you may do so by changing your options in your profile, as described in the following paragraph.
HOW TO ALTER YOUR PROFILE:
If you wish to change your password or alter any of the information in your profile, it's very simple. At the top of the main page you will see a "Profile" link. Click this, and on the next page click the "Modify Profile" link. That will take you to the modification page.
Remember! Once you have changed your details on that page ,scroll down to the bottom and hit the "Modify Profile" link on the left hand side. If you fail to do this your changes will not be saved.
HOW TO PLACE PICTURES IN YOUR POSTS:
You can't directly upload pictures to the forum from your computer, but that's no huge problem. All you need to do is take your picture to a free image host such as Imageshack.us or Photobucket.com (though you'll need to sign-up to use the latter). Upload it to their servers following their simple instructions (with Imageshack that literally means only 2 clicks of a mouse), and they will provide you with a URL for the picture. Bring that URL back here and insert it into your post. Voila!
HOTLINKING IMAGES:
Please be aware, hotlinking is against forum rules. For those who are unsure what hotlinking is, it's when you take the URL of a picture from another website and place it directly on this site to show the image.
For example, suppose you want your avatar (the picture in your profile) to be of your favourite CD cover. You go to Amazon, right click on a picture of the CD, save the URL, then come back here and place that URL in your profile so the image appears. That's hotlinking.
The reason it's banned by the majority of forums and websites is because it steals bandwidth from the originating site. And if that website is paying for their bandwidth, it costs them money....so obviously some sites can get rather unhappy if they discovers others hotlinking to their images. So for that reason, hotlinking is banned upon this forum, and any hotlinked images will be deleted.
