The Rules:
In addition to the terms and conditions of the forum Host which you agreed to when you signed up with the forum, we have a few more basic rules of note:
1) Trolls and those who deliberately attempt to disrupt the forum with troublesome posts will be banned. Known troublemakers from other forums may also be banned, whether or not they have caused problems here.
2) Please keep all discussion civil. Heated conversation is fine (and can only be expected if politics is the subject!), but personal insults, threats, attacks or harrasment are unacceptable.
3) Language. The minimum age for membership of this forum is 13, so with that in mind, foul language, offensive usernames and comments/images of an adult or obscene nature are not permitted. We do have an automated censor which blocks outs swear words - please don't attempt to bypass it or you'll get a slap on the wrist!
4) If you quote news articles in any post you make, please provide a link to the originating site. Please do not quote articles in their entirety. To stay within the limits of the "fair use act" quote minimally of only the most relevant sections.
5) Libellous or defamatory comments are not permitted, obviously.
6) Hotlinking of images is not permitted. If you're unsure what Hotlinking is, please read the "Useful Information" section.
7) Spam or posts advertising commercial products, services or websites are not permitted and will deleted.
8) If you wish to place a picture in your signature, please ensure it is no taller than 100 pixels. Some people still have slower Internet connections, and if a lot of large signature images appear on a page it can create problems for them.
9) If you don't agree to the above rules, please delete your membership now. Don't break them and complain if you are later punished!
As for punishment, the penalties for breaking forum rules will vary. You could receive a simple edit of a post, a piece of advice from a Moderator, a warning, or in extreme cases, a suspension or ban. It all depends on the individual circumstance.
In the case of bans or suspensions, at least one warning will usually be given before any such action is taken (the exceptions to this being the circumstances mentioned in rule number 1, or a situation of extreme personal attack or suchlike from one member to another).
Please remember, although this forum is free for you to join, that doesn't grant you the right to behave here exactly as you desire. All we ask is that you follow our basic rules, and have respect for other members. Within that criteria you are free to do as you choose.
Finally, I would ask that you check these rules periodically as they will no doubt be updated as the forum grows or new situations arise.
