Simon Bellwood, the former manager of the Greenfields secure unit, says the States of Jersey are trying to evict him and his family from the island, despite previously agreeing that he could stay here. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/jersey/7509360.stmI think we will never get to the bottom of this case, despite Mr Bellwood's attempts to publish as much as he can on his blog. In some senses I feel it's a shame the tribunal was settled out of court - would it have made any difference if the court had had to come to a ruling?

One can only shrug in dispair. I've always thought Stuart Syvret was overreacting somewhat when referring to the States as a collection of "Gangsters and spivs", but, if true, this kind of behaviour perfectly reinforces his assertion.
Surely if the States have reneged on their tribunal agreement, this means Simon Bellwood is no longer bound by his part?

Trouble here is that we only get snippits. Are the States so stupid that they would try to evict SB in the current situation Doesn't make sense to me, but with them who knows. I see Stuart has outed another former Senator in his blog. Its getting very interesting in the run up to Lenny going.

But given the rather childish political tit-for-tat and "toys out of the pram" behaviour we've seen from certain Ministers over the past year or two, I would no longer put it past them.

Simon Bellwood is a man of morals, integrety and honesty. He knows the inner workings of our child "care" system over here. You can be sure the States will be doing everything they can to evict him, they need rid of him. So what if they get called a few nasty names over the internet, the local media will soon put that right!!
As I understand it he has signed a "gagging order" as part of his settlement agreement. The chances are he'll not be able to take his eviction through the courts, any evidence he might have been able to give in his defense, along with any evidence against the States, will probably be sewn up by the "gagging order". I can't say how much I know about gagging orders forced on people complaining about civil servants and States members, but let's just say it is probably more than most.
If only Simon Bellwood knew what he was letting himself in for when he was trying to protect our kids. If he didn't then, he knows now, "the Jersey way" my heart and support go out to him and his family.
